HMRC is urging people born between 1st September 2003 and the 2nd January 2011 to check and make sure you do not have a Child Trust Fund sitting idle. The Child Trust Funds were setup by many parents, urged by government with a £250 bonus in the account when opened.
As a parent of a child under 18, you can check with HMRC’s free online tool to find details where the trust fund was originally set up by following the link https://www.gov.uk/child-trust-funds/find-a-child-trust-fund
